John E. Blondell, 57, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sunday, December 10, 1967, in Scott AFB, IL, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at his residence.

John worked as a Survey/Engineer for a Telecommunications Company. He was a member of Douglas Lodge #361 AF & AM – Mascoutah, IL, Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad Shriners Hospital, Cast Past Secretary/Treasurer. Hospital Unit Past President, Past Membership Committee Chairman, Past Circus Publicity Chairman, Sportsmans Raffle Founder, Shrine Fund Raising Past President, SFA- Current Secretary, High 12 #35 President-Belleville, High 12 Past Illinois State President and current Sgt, of Arms, High 12 International 2nd Vice President, Illinois Demolay Past State Master Counselor 1989, Egyptian Preceptory LOH-Dean, and Scottish Rite Deputy Master Lodge of Perfection.

John had a love for the open road and the adventures it brought, whether traveling for himself or alongside with the Shriners Hospital. A true foodie at heart, he delighted in discovering new flavors, with Mongolian BBQ being his all-time favorite. If you asked if he had a favorite sandwich, it was a Hot Salami from Gioia's on The Hill. His trips to Memphis, TN for barbecue were always a highlight, and he often dreamed of one day visiting Hawaii. John also found himself going to car shows and he always found himself thinking about that perfect sports car for all of his road trips.

Outdoors, John found joy in boating, fishing, biking and hiking- always eager for the next experience. One of his other favorite hobbies was going to estate sales to find great deals and hidden gems. John could be extremely frugal and coupons were almost always used and he was the King of the BOGO's! Known for being a social butterfly, he had a knack for striking up conversations everywhere he went, and he never passed up the chance to share a joke (John though he was quite funny, and some would agree).

John will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his humor, and the way he lived his life surrounded by good food, good company, and good times.
