John Bloomer

John Bloomer, 72, of Girard, died at 7:44 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2023. John was born February 3, 1951 in the kitchen in the house he grew up in and he died in the same house in the living room.
John was the son of Kenneth M. and Josephine (Polhlopek) Bloomer. He grew up in Girard and graduated from Girard High School in 1969.
John did contract work including painting before working at the Heritage Nursing Home in Girard in 1970. He was currently working in maintenance at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home, now Medical Lodge of Frontenac, since 1985. He also worked in maintenance for Dr. Richard Gellender in Pittsburg.
John married Susan Champ on August 9, 1980 in Girard and she survives of the home.
John was a member of the South Broadway Baptist Church in Pittsburg and he enjoyed his family, going to Branson, good meals, family pets, and the Bloomer Boys' Toybox, working on their collection of vehicles and motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Bloomer, of the home; his son, Jonathon Bloomer, and his significant other, Sarah Coomer, of rural Walnut; his daughter, Stacey Lewis, and her husband, Timothy, of Girard; 2 grandchildren; his sister, Mary Tersinar, and her husband, Kenneth, of Girard.
Memorial visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., and the Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 211 E Forest Avenue in Girard.
Memorials are suggested to the SEK Humane Society and these may be left at the Smith-Carson-Wall funeral home at 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
