John Bogdanowicz, 63 of Manchester, NH passed peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones after a long illness.
John was born in Lowell, MA., on December 19, 1960, the son of (late) Jan Bogdanowicz and Marie Madeliene (Potier) Bogdanowicz. Prior to his Honorary Discharge, John served in the US Marine Corps from 1980 to 1984, 2nd Bn, 5thMar, 1stMarDiv, Campen, CA and the Marine Corps Reserves from 1984 to 1986. John was also a member of the Granite State Marine Corps League Detachment #542- Manchester, NH.
John, along with his love for our country, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved his neighbors and community. He had a good heart and would help anyone in need with a smile and enthusiasm. He enjoyed camping, sitting by the fire and spending time outdoors and tending to his yard. He loved having family and friends over to enjoy his grilling and cooking. He loved cooking and was famous for his lasagna. He would make enough for 40 people and bring some to everyone. In his free time, John was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed his motorcycle rides with his wife, family and many friends.
Family members include his wife of 29 years, April (Goulette) Bogdanowicz, of Manchester, NH; his daughters, Erika Piet and husband Joe Piet, and granddaughter, Willow Rose of Manchester, NH; Amanda Smith and husband Jayce, and grandchildren Alexis and Hunter of Whitakers, NC; stepdaughter, Nicole Dionne, of Manchester, NH. He is also survived by his mother, Marie Madeliene Bogdanowicz, his sister, Dominique McGrath and husband, Robert McGrath Jr. of Salem, NH; brother, Richard Bogdanowicz and wife, Linda Bogdanowicz, of Windham, NH; sister Monique Howell and husband Dale Howell, of Milford, NH; brother, Henry Bogdanowicz, of Lancaster, NH; brother. Jerry Bogdanowicz, of Goffstown, NH; and sister, Michelle Herrick and husband Tom Herrick, of Goffstown, NH; mother-in-law, Athena Edwards, of Manchester, NH; brother-in-law, James Goulette and wife Marie Goulette of Manchester, NH; nephew, TJ Goonan (USMC) and wife Kelly Goonan (USAF) of Saint Cloud, Florida. Many nieces, nephews and a great niece.

SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester. Military honors and interment will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, 11a.m., at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH, 03303.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Road, Manchester, NH 03102, in memory of John.
