Marie Madeline (Maddie) Leone Genevieve Augustine Louise (Potier) Bogdanowicz, 86, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday December 30, 2024, at Villa Crest Healthcare and Retirement Center in Manchester, NH. She was born in Le Givre, France on December 29, 1938, a daughter of the late Leon Gabriel Aristide Potier and Marie Genevieve Louse (Rivalland) Potier. She and her late husband, Jan (John) Bogdanowicz immigrated from France to Lowell, MA in 1956 and becoming U.S. citizens in 1967.
She enjoyed tending to her garden and ensuring her many rose gardens were perfect. She also enjoyed her cooking and passing on her years of French and Polish cooking to her family. In her later years, she most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved and embraced her family.
She is survived by her three daughters, Dominique McGrath and her husband Robert of Salem, NH, Monique Howell and her husband Dale of Milford, NH, and Michelle Herrick and her husband Thomas (Tom) of Goffstown, NH; four sons, Richard Bogdanowicz and his wife Linda of Windham, NH, her late son John Bogdanowicz and his wife April of Manchester, NH, Henry Bogdanowicz of Lancaster, NH, Jerry Bogdanowicz of Goffstown, NH; 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Children an one Great Great Granddaughter. She is also the oldest of 9 siblings in France with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry, NH. The burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Cemetery Road (off East Derry Rd) Derry, NH 03038. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Parkinson Disease Association and Visiting Nurses Association of Manchester.
