Obituary published on Legacy.com by Doherty Funeral Homes, Inc. - Pike Creek on Jan. 12, 2024.
On January 9, 2024, John "Jack" Bonis, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 73. He was born on July 1, 1950 in Philadephia. He graduated from Roman Catholic High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force stationed in DAFB where he was trained as a graphic/printer specialist.
After being discharged, he worked for several printing companies. For the last 23 years he served the Red Clay Consolidated School District as a Graphic Specialist. He loved his interactions with the staff and always took pride in his work.
While serving in the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Susie, to whom he was married for 50 years. Together they raised four amazing sons who brought them 12 beautiful grandchildren he adored. He was known as their Dziadzi.
He was always supporting his family, whether it was to help his sons with a project, or cheering on his grandchildren in all their activities or just lending a helping hand. He loved fishing and vacationing with his family.
Jack also loved making people laugh with his unique and creative comments and jokes. He was truly one of kind and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Jack taught us to Love, Laugh and Live!

Johnny Bonis was a constant at the Ignas household for a number of years before he married Susie. My Mom adored him. Johnny took me to my high school senior prom. His older brother was my elder brother's best friend for years.

What a terrific man Johnny was - smart, funny, compassionate and basically the all-around great guy. My memories of Johnny are so much dearer now.
