John Bowman Obituary

John David Bowman, age 77, died July 12, 2025, at his home. He was born January 22, 1948, in Ft Sill, Oklahoma, to Wheeler Glenn and Jacqueline Strait Bowman.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Elizabeth Kuhlman Bowman, and his son, Benjamin Thaddeus (Lisa) of Winter Park, Florida. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Addison Bowman of Tallahassee and Winter Park.

John loved animals and spending time in nature. He particularly loved camping and kayaking with his dog, Little Bear.

He spent a fifty-year career in the building materials industry, which took him from Florida to Indiana and eventually to North Carolina, where he retired after twenty-five years as Regional Vice President with LaSalle Bristol.

He was respected for his work ethic and compassion for those he worked with.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Rowan County, North Carolina. Condolences may be shared online at www.salemfh.com.

So many great memories of the times we shared together over forty-plus years. Whether playing golf, fishing or just being together we always had great fun and laughs. John was a great friend!

I am sorry for your loss. I worked with John in Ocala Florida at Service Supply Systems for years and also in the Manufactured Housing Industry. He was loved by all and a very respected man and will be missed!
