John Bowman was born and raised in Washington, D.C. He served in the Army during the Korean War era and married the love of his life in 1956. He enjoyed delivering milk to families' homes and later packages for UPS. He was a God-fearing man, active in his church. He was a friend to all he met and was loved and admired by all.
John is predeceased by his father: John Emory Bowman, his mother: Kathryn Anna Folmer Bowman, and his wife: Paula Catherine Armiger Bowman. John is survived by his brother: David Henry Bowman (Anne), his children: Janet Harding (Tony), Judy Welch (Sam), and John L. Bowman (Karen), his grandchildren: Michelle Belt, Matthew Welch, Corey Rupertus (Shawn), Meghan Lowery (Jamie), Sierra Bowman, and Cassidy Bowman, as well as 6 great-grandchildren.
