John Lawrence Bracha Jr.

1967 - 2023

John Lawrence Bracha Jr., 56, of Ryegate MT passed away on August 10, 2023, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 27, 1967, in Olympia WA. The beloved first son and fifth child of John Lawrence and Louise Ilene (Baney) Bracha.

Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Donna (Garrett) Harshbarger, Twin Bridges, MT: John L Bracha III (Ashley), Broadview, MT: Isaiah Bracha, Stanford, MT; he is also survived by his adoring granddaughters Emma Mariah Marlene Harshbarger, and Harriett Jean Louise Harshbarger. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Steve (Kelly) Bracha, Havre, MT, and four sisters: Viola (Richard) Martin, Trimley St. Mary England, Leonoria (Randy) Thom, Deadman Basin, Brenda (Greg) Rush, Billings, MT; Judy (Sid) Lewis, Craig CO, and many nieces and nephews, as well as the love of his life, Laura Werk, Hays, MT.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Bracha, nephew, Brian John Rush, niece Malinda Bracha, and great nephew (Malinda's son) Nolan Mothershead.

Along with his faithful dog LaKoda, John shared many adventures and cherished trips to the mountains with his family. LaKoda was always by his side, providing unwavering loyalty and love throughout their journey together.

John had an unwavering passion for hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children. His love for participating in barbecue cook-offs was matched only by his pride in the numerous first-place prizes he had won. John's deep affection for his children was evident through his active involvement in their extracurricular activities. He possessed remarkable culinary skills and excelled in canning. His dill pickles and beans were cherished favorites among friends and family. John took delight in preparing meals and experimenting with new recipes for his children. With an exceptional ability to connect with people, John had an extensive circle of friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His infectious smile brightened the lives around him. John cherished countless truck rides and admiring the breathtaking Montana sunsets was one of his favorites.

John dedicated many years of his life to working for NAPA in Lewistown, and Stanford, Montana. Prior to that, he served as a mechanic for Bert Pontiac GMC in Billings, Montana. The last job he had working at HCR Inc, in Lewistown was his favorite. He enjoyed the work, the owners, and his co-workers.

John will be deeply missed by his loved ones and friends. His legacy of love, generosity, and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

Services will be held at Smith's Funeral Chapel, 304 34th Street West Billings MT on Friday, August 25, at 11:00 a.m.
