John Ruben Bradley, age 76, of Mooresboro, passed away at his home on Friday, April 25, 2025.

John was born on Tuesday, March 29, 1949 in Rutherford County, to the late Robert T. Bradley and Avis Hines Bradley. He was a member of the Restoration Church in Forest City where he served as an Elder. John served as the Assistant Chaplain of the Rutherford County Detention Center alongside the late Reverend Jerry Hames and was heavily involved in a number of other prison ministries. He proudly served the United States in the Army during the Vietnam War as a Buck Sergeant. Following his service, John worked as an electrician for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife, Joy Bradley; son, Joseph Ruben Bradley; grandchildren, Ciara Bradley, Rueben Wake Harrill, and William Thomas Harrill; and brothers: Robert Bradley, Bruce Bradley, and Clark Bradley.

Left to treasure the memories of his life are his beloved wife, Brenda Bradley; sons, John Christopher Bradley (Staci), and Shawn Daniel Bradley; stepchildren, Tamara Rape (Robert), Tiana Waters, Mark Hill (Angie), April Condrey (Joe), Jason Hill (Andrea), and Lacy Harrill (Clint); grandchildren, Christian Montgomery Bradley, Victoria Danielle Bradley, John Michael Seth Bradley, Noah Jae Bradley, Daniel Bradley, Kayla Bradley, Christine Bradley, Joshua Forrest, Miranda Rape, Avery Waters, Amari Waters, Aden Waters, Basil Stacy, Nicole Hill, Myah Hill, Kylie Sisk, Emily Sisk, Paige Condrey, Kayla Condrey, Easton Sisk, Jaden Hill, Keely Hill, Alex Muller, and Kingston and Kyrie; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Waters (Chester); a special friend who was like a son, John Pent; and two spiritual children, Daniel David, and Huey Nguyen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 1st, at Harrelson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 2nd at the Restoration Church of Forest City with the Reverend Paul Lane officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Hicks Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
