Funeral Service for John Milford Breeden Jr. will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Pastor Jody O’Briant officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
John was born on March 12, 1939, to John Milford Breeden Sr. and Ruth Heloise Breeden in Levelland, TX. He passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 86.
John was married to his wife, Shirley, for 59 years. Together, they built a life filled with love and companionship, raising a family that John adored with all his heart. His devotion to family extended beyond his immediate circle, as he forged deep connections with friends and those in the community.
For 32 years, John dedicated himself to his career at Amoco Production, where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and supervisors alike. Though he retired from his professional endeavors, he continued to find purpose and joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid hunter and fisherman, John cherished the moments spent outdoors, where he found tranquility and a sense of adventure.
His faith in God was a guiding light throughout his life, influencing his daily actions and interactions with others. John exemplified what it meant to be dedicated—not just to his work or hobbies, but to his loved ones and the values he held dear.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Ruth Breeden; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cy and Lou Emma Edwards; sister, Francis Ruth Gillean; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn and Florene Edwards; and brothers-in-law, Nubbin Edwards and Howard Spruiell. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Edwards Breeden; daughters, Teresa Ann Breeden Minnix (Kyle), Bobbi Louann Breeden McQueen, Becki Leeann Breeden Jaramillo (Freddie); son, John Milford Breeden III (Amanda); brother-in-law, Lex Gillean; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Spruiell; grandchildren, Bradly Minnix (Jessica), Zachary Minnix (Ashley), Jonna McQueen Spitler, Danielle McQueen (fiancé, Matt), Melanie McQueen, Markus Johnson (Sasha), Aimee Breeden Kendall (Connor), Ann Breeden Montoya (Javi); John Breeden IV (fiancé, Kenzie); great-grandchildren, Landry, Brynlee, Bryson, Christopher, Caleb, Cora, Callie, Russell, Rhyder, Arianna, Grace, Theodore; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
