**Obituary for John "Charlie" Brennan** It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John "Charlie" Brennan, who passed away suddenly on August 26, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on August 2, 1937, in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Dorchester, Charlie embodied the spirit of his hometown throughout his life. Charlie was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Dorothy Brennan, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised three daughters: Diane Tenaglia of Braintree, MA, Susan Fitzgerald of Brockton, MA, and Kathy Mahoney of Nokomis, FL. He took immense pride in his family, cherishing the time spent with his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. A man of dedication, Charlie devoted 45 years of his life to his career at Verizon. His commitment and work ethic left an indelible mark, earning him respect and admiration among his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, Charlie was known for his passions and interests, particularly his love for golf. He was an avid golfer and found camaraderie and friendship in his active membership at Moose Lodge #1308 and American Legion Post #0159. Charlie's warmth, kindness, and ready smile will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. He had a unique ability to bring people together and his unwavering support for his family and friends made him a great source of comfort and strength. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, with the family receiving friends and a service to follow at 11:00 AM at Farley Funeral Home, located at 265 Nokomis Ave. S, Venice, FL 34285. As we gather to celebrate the life of this remarkable man, we invite everyone who knew and loved Charlie to join us in remembering the joy he brought to our lives. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
