John Richard Brinker

John R. Brinker, 87, of Norvelt, passed away January 14, 2026. He was born August 10, 1938 in Armbrust, a son of the late John and Marie (Overly) Brinker.

After high school, John enlisted in the US Army and served for several years. Prior to retirement John worked at Volkswagon and then retired from the Elliot Company in Jeannette.

John was a member of the Norvelt Union Church, and the Friends Dinner Group.

In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his brothers Eugene, William, and Wayne Brinker, his sisters Ruby Ahlborn, and Georgetta Hollis.

John is survived by his wife, Kay (Lowery) Brinker, daughter Sherri (Mark) Little, grandchildren Emily (Taylor) Fernandez, Brady Little, and Phillip (Amber) Little, great-grandchildren Elara Kay Fernandez, and Brinker Wayne Fernandez, his sister Mary Jane Sillaman, his special nephew Wayne (JR) Brinker and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, January 23 in the Norvelt Union Church, 2339 Mount Pleasant Rd, Mount Pleasant, PA 15666. Everyone please meet at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoffer Wilt Funeral Home, Norvelt.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Norvelt VFD, 2325 Mount Pleasant Rd, Mount Pleasant, PA 15666, or to the Norvelt Union Church, 2339 Mount Pleasant Rd, Mount Pleasant, PA 15666.
