John was my God-Father. He was one of my dad's best friends. My dad Robert "Danny Hart" (Wolf Man Jack) played in a band with him for many years. I remember John being tall and handsome when I was a little girl. He reminded me of Bo Duke on the dukes of Hazzard. John was always kind and loving and an amazing harmonica player. I'm sure he is jamming out right now with my dad, Greg spillman, and all the other greats that have passed to the other side. God bless John's family, and John have a great time on the other side I heard they have the best music there.

John my friend you are now free of pain, fear, hurt, their is only love that you feel. You will be waiting for the time that your soulmate will join you. But in the mean time please watch over my dear friend Diane. Keep her safe, strong and give her courage. You two are not like other people I have had the pleasure of spending time together. You lived with love, loyalty and always fought for Justice. I am proud to call you both my friends. I love you both more then words can say. I know you are in HEAVEN John jamming with Patsy Cline, Hank Williams and Stevie Ray Vaughan. May God´s love and light shine on you and your wonderful wife, children and grandchildren. Until we meet again my friend.

He was always standing guard of the Senate in a professional and stoic way!! He was a friend and a very nice person. My love goes out to Diane, his children and his family. I´m so very sorry for your loss.

John was our "unofficial" Godfather to my daughter Chris (aka: Shannon Hart) Gallardo. Her father was Danny Hart. John and Danny would do a Blues Brothers routine on stage. Boy, John sure could play that harmonica. Danny is gone and now I would like to think that he and John are on God's stage jamming with the other musicians that went before them. The last time I saw John was in 1990. Sorry so many years went by not getting to visit with John, but that never dimmed the love I felt for this beautiful friend of mine. I love you John. Tell Danny hello for me.
Love,
Your "sister friend" Linda (Hart) Burris
