John Britz Obituary

John W. Britz, 79, of Washington Township, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clara (Mattei) Britz. John was an avid motorcyclist. He started riding in 1968, and in 1970 he and a friend rode to California on a 350 Honda. After that, the bikes got bigger and the trips more frequent. After marriage, John and his wife, Karen, also an avid motorcyclist, traveled extensively, and in 1986 rode their Honda Gold Wing on an 11,500-mile trip to Alaska. John had ridden his Honda in all 50 states. In 1989, John and his wife began Follow the Son Ministries, an evangelistic ministry oriented toward motorcycles. He has street-evangelized at all the major rallies: Bike Week and Biketoberfest in Daytona, FL; Americade in Lake George, NY; and the big rally in Sturgis, SD; as well as local rallies. His Honda Gold Wing, "The Bible Bike," was airbrushed with 16 major scenes from the Bible. John always made available Pocket New Testaments and other literature free to all. After his retirement as a certified tool and die maker from the Elliott Company in Jeannette, John devoted full time to his ministry. In 2000 he became ordained as a pastor through Living Faith Ministries, Inc. Surviving is his loving family: sister, Mary Jo Bulebush; nephew, Wil Korach; sister-in-law, Mary Korach; and great-niece, Willow Korach. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Karen (Korach) Britz; and brother-in-law, William "Bud" Korach. Friends and family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at WOLFE-VON GEIS FUNERAL HOME INC., Export (724)-327-1400. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, in the chapel of Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. If desired, donations in John's name may be sent to Keystone Christian Church, 5875 Washington Ave., Export, PA 15632. John was my friend for many years. We worked together at Elliott Co. John and Karen and myself and my wife worshiped together at the same church. We kept in touch even after I moved to Harrisburg. I know he is in a better place. May he R.I.P.

Sorry to hear of John's passing. Him and my Dad, Richard Kauffman were very good friends. I would see John at many motorcycle events sitting on his bike with a sign
Free Bibles. He wouldn't force religion on people, but would be willing to talk to anyone about scripture. I considered him a friend also.

My condolences and prayers for the family of my childhood friend, John Britz. I fondly remember days spent together with John, "Cookie" and their parents. May our Lord bless you, abundantly.
