No words can help soften your loss. Please know you and your family are in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. I hope the memories you share of him - his laugh, his kindness, the moments that made him who he was - bring you some measure of comfort and keep him close to your hearts.

Dear Brown Family,
Daniel, Emily, Elizabeth, Michael and I send our love and deepest condolences on the loss of your beautiful son and brother. John was always warm, kind and welcoming. Whether at our home, in their house in Northern Liberties or in their apartment at GW, John's kindness, humor and intelligence made it easy to get to know him. Most recently, he attended the funeral mass of my husband on Septembe 16, 2025. I was so appreciative of his attendance and heartfelt, compassionate hug that day- I will never forget it. Please know that you will all be in my prayers and in my heart.
Susan Marley

I met John at GW my freshman year when we both joined the same fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi. While this is cliché, I truly did love John like a brother. I am so thankful for all the memories we had, especially during the three years we lived together as roommates along with some of our other close friends. On any given night, you´d find John with a glass of red wine-blasting ARTPOP, debating political or philosophical topics, or dominating a board game-all while reading us to filth with a witty one-liner. Beyond John´s intelligence and humor, he was mature and wise beyond his years. He gained the respect of all our peers in our fraternity, becoming our President, through his open and honest communication, principled stances, and treating others with respect. He always looked to do the right thing, even if it was the harder option or not to his benefit. During and after our times at college, if I ever needed advice from anyone, John would be my first call for this reason. John I will miss you dearly, and hope to be reunited with you again someday.

I am very sorry to read about John´s untimely passing. He was a classmate of mine in the same section at Temple University. While I did not know him well, I had the privilege of knowing him as a kind, intelligent, and generous person who opened his home to others. My condolences to his family as they mourn his loss. The world has lost a truly decent human being.

I had the privilege of working closely with John as his class moderator through the student council at Bishop Eustace Prep, where his smile, good nature, and quiet leadership left a lasting impression. He brought warmth and kindness to every interaction and will always be remembered with deep affection by those who knew him.
