John Buckner Obituary
Born on March 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Luther and Sarah Buckner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son and his nine siblings.
John dedicated 25 years of service to Kerr Glass Company, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady commitment. Outside of work, John found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved cooking and gardening, and he was especially famous among family and friends for his delicious banana nut bread.
A licensed ham radio operator, John enjoyed connecting with others and never met a stranger. He had a generous spirit and a heart for giving - often buying bicycles and toys to share with children in the community. He loved visiting the flea market nearly every weekend and treasured the friendships he formed there. To know John was to love him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Juanita Hawkins Buckner; his daughters, Susan and Sarah; his son, Scotty; his grandson, Joey Buckner (Amy); and his beloved great-granddaughter, Savannah.
John will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
