Pawtucket - John A. Burrill, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Sharon A. (Anforth) Burrill for fifty-eight loving years at the time of her passing on November 18, 2022. He was born in West Newbury, Massachusetts, a son of the late Leonard R. and Shirley (Sawyer) Burrill. While he resided in Pawtucket most of his life, he could, and would often regale anyone within ear shot, of the very specific details of his remarkable childhood. John was a proud member of the former Pawtucket Congregational Church, serving in countless leadership and volunteer roles during his more than 40 years of membership. His faith was a consistent theme throughout his life and was very important to him. John's passion for music and singing lead him to join the church choir and ultimately perform with the Providence Singers for a brief time. As a lover of nature, John always found ways to spend time outdoors, through scenic vacations with his family and serving as camp master at Buck Hill Boy Scout Camp. Later in life, he also traveled the world with his beloved wife, including trips to Australia, Europe, Nova Scotia, the Panama Canal and a train ride across Canada. John is survived by his loving sons, Nathan A. Burrill of Pawtucket, and Timothy J. Burrill and his wife, Linnea, of Danvers, Massachusetts; two sisters, Sally Torell and her husband, Ed, of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and Martha St. Jean and her husband, Pete, of East Hampstead, New Hampshire, and a brother, Jay Burrill and his wife, Sharon, of Beverly, Massachusetts. John was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: John, Josh, Eric, Ayana, Lauren, and Luke, and was adored by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Polly Burrill, Peter Burrill, and Mark Burrill. VISITATION will begin on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 2 p.m. followed by Services at 4 pm at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or online at: https://donate.cancer.org. For online condolences or to share memories please visit www.trippfuneralhome.com.
