John Bynum (affectionately known as Mann Mann, Mann, Playboy, JB) was born on July 12, 1990, in Willingboro, New Jersey to John and Quaitra Bynum. Mann was educated in the Willingboro School District and throughout all of his education, he was academically talented and an honor roll student.
Mann grew up in Willingboro, where he developed a love for music and sports. He enjoyed playing Little League and PAL football and baseball. He also played for the Willingboro High School Baseball team, Marching Band, and Jazz Band. Mann was extremely talented, mastering several instruments; piano, drums, and saxophone. Mann produced numerous musical tracks for various artists. Everything his hands touched he mastered.
Mann was an amazing son to John and Qua. He was one of the best parts of John and Qua and their love story. His parents raised him in the Lord, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He used his gifts to play many musical instruments. He made them proud with all of his accolades and accomplishments. Whatever Mann set out to do, his parents supported him 100 percent. John was a big brother to his sister Jeohna in which they shared a special bond that connected them through DNA forever (IYKYK). An amazing brother-in-law to Calvin and an amazing uncle to Carys and Calen. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took immense pride in being a part of their lives, offering his unwavering support and love. His favorite pastime was playing video games with his dad, cousins and friends. Mann was a driving force in his numerous betting chats (lol). He was an avid Philadelphia Sports Team fan and loved to watch the Eagles with his dad. He loved talking trash to his friends and uncles about his favorite team.
In 2008, he graduated from Willingboro High School. After graduation, Mann attended William Paterson University where he developed a love for photography/videography through the creation of his series, "The College Life." Mann would later attend The New School in New York City to pursue this passion. He interned at Revolt TV, and had the opportunity to film at New York Fashion week where he met numerous celebrities. During his time at the New School, his brand, "iExclusive Productions" was born.
After receiving his master's degree in film and media studies, he would later go on to work for Burlington Coat factory for his 1st media job. Shortly after, he accepted a position at Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton, NJ. While at Catholic Charities, Mann used this time to create a short documentary that would be featured at the Soma Film Festival and the Trenton Film Festival. In addition to his short films, Mann created and featured in a billboard at the Hamilton Train Station. While maintaining iExclusive Productions - where he enjoyed capturing memories for families and couples - he was also employed by The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia as a Digital Multimedia Designer.
Mann would later rekindle his relationship with his 4th grade girlfriend, Diamond. Who later became the love of his life. Mann was a devoted husband to Diamond and often called each other "My Boo." Their wedding theme was from 4th Grade to Forever growing into a bond that was a testament to true love, commitment, respect, and never-ending support. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, fun, adventure, and shared dreams where they would travel and go on dates. Mann and Diamond loved to go out and look fly together but also would stay in and binge watch favorite shows. They always loved to "breathe each other's air." They were undeniably soulmates.
As a father, Mann was a guiding light to his two children, Jordan and Amari. He was their hero, always present with a listening ear, wise advice, and a heart full of love. His children will forever cherish the memories of their time together, from baseball and basketball practice, dance recitals, to bedtime stories. Mann always showed up for his children no matter the occasion.
Mann was more than an "in-law" to his bonus family - he was the greatest son to Franchessca and Dallas Dyer, who affectionately called him "Sonny," "Big Bro" to Dominique and Dana Dyer, and the "Best Uncle" to Skylar Lin Trawick - Mann was home. His laughter, positive energy, lectures, kindness, respect, and genuine care for his extended family made him deeply cherished by everyone. Mann was the absolute best bonus son and brother anyone could ask for - always ready with a helping hand, a kind word, and an open heart. And whenever there was a function, him and his "baby sissss" (as he would say) loved to go bar for bar with their rap cyphers.
Though his time with us was far too short, Mann lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. His presence was a gift - uplifting everyone he came in contact with his positive energy, joy, and infectious spirit. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled but also a treasure trove of beautiful memories that will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Diamond, and their cherished children, Jordan and Amari. He is also survived by his loving and devoted parents, John and Quaitra, his dear sister, Jeohna (Calvin)(Carys and Calen), sisters-in-law Dana (Skylar), Dominique, and God-daughter (Giselle). He will be deeply missed by his parents-in-law, Franchessca and Dallas, as well as his grandparents Bernice, Felicia, Fengying, Asia, Allifaire (Bill), and Pop-Pop Skip. He also leaves behind his aunts Renee and Angel, uncles Jeff, Rahsaun, Larry, and Anwar, and host of first cousins and close cousins Bobby (deceased) Nekah (Shawn), Lesa, Trisha, Dahv (Jackie), Jessica, Dave, Chris, Derick, Bianca, Nyashya. The DAWGS (Keith, Mark, Elijah, Dante), Day Ones (Phylicia, Chelsea, Ruthie, George, Brandon, Marcus, Stevie, Ringo, Toni, Isa), and so many more friends to name. His memory will be forever treasured by his family and all who knew him.
