When I first met Grandpa John I loved seeing how happy he made my Grandma A. When he introduced himself to me it wasn't a handshake it was an instant hug and in that moment I know he was gonna love/treat me as his own Granddaughter. I sawhis personality has a big fluffy teddy bear that'd do anything for his family. Even though I only got five months knowing him it was some of the best months this year. I will cherish the short time we got together and the family I got. He will be missed by many. Sending love and prayers.

I met John when he was helping with AWANAS at the Baptist Tabernacle in LaJunta. He drove a 65 or 66 Mustang that was painted a metallic green and for a Mustang, it was pretty nice. I can remember running around LaJunta with him during scavenger hunts....what a great time! Our friendship grew over the years, and John was always the same. Soft spoken, even tempered, humble, respectful, and always had a smile on his face. I will cherish my memories of him until we meet again. John will be missed! May God comfort and keep you during this time of loss.
