John David Casarez Sr.

John David Casarez Sr., 65, was born on May 26, 1960, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Louis and Angelita Casarez and pass away peacefully on February 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a loyal and hard-working truck driver for Ingram Redi Mix for over 20 years of his life. He loved his job and those he worked with. Johnny, as many knew him by, had a friendly and kind spirit and was loved by many. He proudly served in the United States Army in 1979. He enjoyed fishing and driving around in his red Ford Ranger truck listening to classic 70's music. He was also an avid Baltimore Ravens and Astros fan. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor as he would light up a room with his funny story telling and lighthearted jokes. He had a generous and kind spirit, and he will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

John was most recently preceded in death by his father, Louis H. Casarez Jr., his uncle, Charles E. Casarez and mother-in-law, Margarita Aurora Meave.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Mary, his beloved mother, Angelita Casarez, sisters, Norma Acock (Al) and Mary De La Garza (Augustine), sons, John D. Casarez Jr. (Valerie) and Louis A. Casarez, daughter, Vanessa Montez, his grandchildren; Alyssa, Ryan, Paul John, Jaden, Emily, John Michael and Isaiah, stepchildren; Mary Ann Lytle (William), Melissa Lopez (Jonathan), Alexander Meave and Amanda Meave and numerous extended family including nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren with a special acknowledgement to his beloved pets, Popcorn and Sandy who loved him dearly.

A public visitation will be held strictly at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A prayer service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service and interment to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Park with full military honors.

Pallbearers will be Louis Anthony Casarez, William Acock, Christopher Calderon, Phillip Guajardo, Jerry Herrera and Jonathan Lopez.
