Dr. John P. Cassity of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away at the Cassity Farm on May 4, 2024, at the age of 81. John was born in Carthage, Texas, on November 4, 1942, to Lina Grace and R.V. Cassity.

John attended Livingston High School, completed preprofessional work at Texas A&M in College Station, and graduated from the University of Texas Dental School in Houston. In 1971, John moved to Nacogdoches, where he opened his orthodontics practice. Later in his professional career, he practiced in Jacksonville in the office of Dr. Charles Creed, and in Center in the office of Dr. Danny Paul Windham.

John was predeceased by his parents and brother William Cassity.
