John M. Catt, 73, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born June 27, 1950 in New Castle to the late Sherman Jr. and Imogene (Sparks) Catt.
On August 27 , 1976, John married the love of his life, Lizabeth. John graduated in 1969 from Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School. John retired from Duke Energy in 2010. He loved playing golf with his buddies and fishing and hunting with his family.
John is survived by his wife, Lizabeth of 47 years; children, Cindi (Bryan) Rottinghaus of New Castle, Adrianne (Chris) Woolard of New Castle; sister, Susan Cross of New Castle; sister-in-law, Jo Ellen (Robert) Miller of Lafayette; grandchildren, Spencer (Brittney) Rottinghaus, Shelby (James Slonaker) Rottinghaus, Avery Catt, Carrington Woolard; great grandchildren, Kooper and Sophia Rottinghaus; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his in-laws, George and Wanda Wooten; brother-in-law, Jan Wooten; nephews, Tadd and Todd Jarrett.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Steve Woolard officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
