John Chase Obituary

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." – 2 Timothy 4:7

John Starr Chase, age 82, of New Boston, passed away peacefully at his home on March 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

John was born on January 28, 1944, in Buffalo, New York, to John F. Chase and Hanna R. Chase. He lived a long and meaningful life defined by kindness, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his wisdom, and the quiet strength he brought to his family and friends.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army for 26 years. During his distinguished military career, he completed multiple tours of service and rose to the respected rank of Chief Warrant Officer Four (CW4) before retiring. His years of service reflected a strong sense of duty, honor, and commitment to something greater than himself.

Outside of the military, John found great peace and joy in nature. He especially loved deer hunting and fishing, spending cherished hours outdoors-whether waiting quietly in a deer stand or casting a line in the water. These moments in nature were some of the ones he treasured most.

Above all, John cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved, sharing stories, laughter, and the simple moments that made life meaningful.
