John Cioffi Obituary
TROY - John "Poppy" Cioffi, 77, of Troy, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Born on April 27, 1948, in Troy, N.Y., John was known for his homemade Italian cooking, strong work ethic, but most of all, for his deep love for his family. He worked as a crane operator for General Electric, in Schenectady, for 35 years.
John is survived by his daughter, Christine Gordon; granddaughter, Alexis Gordon (Ryan); and his two adored great-grandchildren, Lauryn and Dominic. He is also survived by his sister, Shelly Cioffi; his brother, Michael Cioffi (Donna); and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 50 years, Carol Cioffi; his son, John Cioffi Jr.; and his mother and father.
Services will be private and held for immediate family only.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, in Troy, N.Y., for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
