Mr. John Henry Clark, age 86 of Knoxville, formerly of Rockwood passed away Thursday January 2, 2025, at Tennova Healthcare Turkey Creek. John was a Vietnam veteran who lived a life of service to his country and his fellow man. He retired from the United States Air Force after serving his country honorably for more than twenty years. After his retirement, John returned home and went on to retire from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 53, V.F.W. Post 6598 and the Square Dance Club. John also volunteered at Roane Medical Center and with the Salvation Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Aileen Thompson Clark,
And one daughter: Johnna Lynn Clark.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Shelia Jo Kirkland Clark.
One daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Richard Thompson.
Two granddaughters and their husbands: Brittany Aiken and Buzz Parrinello, and Chelsea and Johnny Baker.
Four great grandchildren: Emma Snapp, Johnny Baker, Rylie Jane Baker, and Haley Marie Baker.
And a special "honorary" daughter: Jana Lynn Johnson.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 3:00 P.M to 5:00 P.M at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. A funeral service will follow with Bro. Greg Kelly officiating. Graveside services will be Monday January 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood.
