John Andrew Clements, 37, of Anaconda, MT passed away on Friday July 29, 2024 peacefully at home.

John was born on November 28, 1986 in Rochester, NY to William Clements and Deborah Marin Hursh. He grew up on a cul de sac in Penfield NY. His house bordered 10 square miles of forever wild forest, and at a young age he loved exploring all of it with his brother Dan. In later years, he enjoyed riding his dirt bike there. In 2003, he moved to the Los Angeles area, where he received his GED by passing the initial evaluation test, which is designed to determine one’s level of education! Because of his love for computers and savant like knowledge of them, he enrolled in a community college, majoring in computer science. He maintained a 4.0 average through his first year. Early in his sophomore year, due to mental health challenges, he was unable to work or continue his education.

In 2023 he moved from Missoula to a 1-bedroom apartment in Anaconda MT. He was continually taking his laptop apart to improve the upload, download and all-around speed.

John was a devout Christian and attended Bedford Alliance Church online regularly. He was a peaceful, loving and gentle soul. You couldn’t help but like John-John. He willingly taught children in his adopted family, his knowledge of music, math and video games.

He raced motorcycles in Mexico’s Baja desert for 5 years and loved to travel. He has been to Antigua and Canada on a Christian retreat. While on a mission’s trip to Honduras, he built an online computer lab for children at an orphanage. After that, he built shelves in the bus/minivan Garage on the property. He enjoyed the fact that following an earthquake in 2014, Chimneys, cupboards, porches and most things came tumbling down – but Not his garage shelves!

Survivors include his mother Deborah Marin Hursh, father William Clements, and brother Daniel Clements. One aunt, Catherine C Baier, and four uncles, Bernie, Rob, Jeff, and Greg Marin.

A memorial will be held at Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula MT on Saturday, August 10 at 11:30 AM.
