John Clemmer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 2, 2025.
John Charles Clemmer, 87, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, in Lecanto, Florida.

Born on February 17, 1938, in Lexington, Massachusetts, John led a life marked by service, creativity, and a deep appreciation for nature. He pursued his education at Worcester State University, where he earned an associate degree in electronics-laying the foundation for a lifelong engagement with both technical and artistic pursuits.

John proudly served his country in both the United States Air Force and the Army National Guard. From 1958 to 1962, during the height of the Cold War, he was stationed in Germany. His time there was notable not only for its historical significance but also for its unique connection-he was housed in the same Army barracks as Elvis Presley for whom he played his piano while Elvis sang and played guitar.

Beyond his military service and technical training, John was a gifted professional musician who found joy and expression through the piano. His music brought comfort and inspiration to those around him and remained a central part of his life.

John also had a profound love for the outdoors. Whether camping under the stars or casting a line into quiet waters, he found peace and fulfillment in nature's embrace. These passions reflected his enduring spirit of adventure and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him including his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and the many people who he touched in his life with his love and music.
