John Bid Cole Barbee Jr., 69 of Stigler passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Born on September 30, 1955 in Stigler. He was the beloved son of John Bidcole Barbee Sr. and Anna Bell (Stallaby) Barbee. John dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community. For 20 years he worked as a Corrections Officer and later served as a Sheriff's Deputy, earning respect of colleagues and the gratitude of those he helped throughout his career.
He is survived by his children who carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength, John B. Barbee III and wife Tina of Stigler, Tony Barbee and wife Tonya of Whitefield, Michelle Bloxham and husband Brent of Enterprise; he was a proud grandfather to Alaysia Barbee and fiance' James, Ciarah Barbee, Jaylnn, Madison and Tyler Bloxham, McKinly and Maverick Barbee; John is also survived by his loving sisters, Linda McCarroll and husband Rick, Sybil McGee, and Carolyn Dunegan; his nephews, Randy and Jeff Jim, Michael and Kyle Dunegan, Bryan Barbee; his nieces, Alisha McCarroll and Kendra Lawrence; His family and friends will always cherish his unwavering love, integrity and dedication. He is preceded in death by his father, John Bidcole Barbee Sr.; his mother, Anna Bell Stallaby Barbee; his daughter, Lisa Barbee; his sister, Jeneva Jim.
Funeral services to honor John's life will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Whitefield Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Stout officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Turpin, David Buckner, Bryden Cooper, Pete Goodner, Tyler Bloxham, Brent Bloxham. Burial will follow at Brooken Cemetery. John was a man of honor and commitment, leaving behind a legacy of service, love and cherished memories. His life serves as an inspiration to all who knew him.
