John Cole Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by North Dallas Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Jun. 20, 2024.
John Loftin Cole, born on November 27, 1950, in Houston, Texas, to parents Melva Loftin and Jimmy Cole, passed away on June 18, 2024. The Cole family relocated to Dallas during his childhood, where John graduated from W.T. White High School in 1969. He pursued higher education at the University of Texas in Austin, and earned his MBA from the University of North Texas.
John's professional career commenced in marketing and sales at PanAm, where he worked in Seattle and California. Following the merger of PanAm, he returned to Dallas and excelled as a top salesman in the silverware industry. His career trajectory continued at Henry S. Miller in downtown Dallas, focusing on real estate. In 2003, he founded 2020 Properties, a firm specializing in office and industrial investments, which he expanded to include over 1 million square feet across 23 buildings, employing more than 40 people.
An avid athlete and adventurer, John's passions included windsurfing, helicopter skiing, skydiving, kiteboarding, and competing in Ironman triathlons. He spent his later years in Houston, managing his properties until his retirement, and eventually moved back to Dallas in 2018.
John is survived by his wife, Valerie Cole; daughters, Danielle Riley and Alicia Cole; stepchildren, Ryan, Nick, Sean, and Jeni McCraney; brothers, Frank and Bob Cole; and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of John's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Highland Park United Methodist Church, located at 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75205. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.

Our world is a lonelier place without our Johnny. We knew John for over 40 years and he made a major impact in our lives. We travel with he and his beautiful wife Valerie. We spent many days together Heli snowboarding, skiing and water skiing together. We will miss John greatly. He was a wonderful friend and Naturally felt like a part of our family . We Love You Johnny!

I have many fond memories of John. I knew him in high school and we roomed together in college. I moved to Chicago so we couldn't stay in really close touch but I did talk to him frequently over the years. John was a great guy and we had a lot of fun together, most which I shouldn't put in print, and I'm gonna miss him dearly
