John Edgar Collet, 91, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, in North Logan, Utah. Born on February 19, 1934, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Grantley S. and Melba Smith Collet, John was raised in Firth, Idaho, where he developed a deep love for his community and family.
John married his high school sweetheart, Clydene Eaton, and together they raised four children: Dave, Doug, Don, and Denise. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, John lived a life of faith, service, and joy. He proudly served in the Air Force where he developed a love for flying which led to his career as an Air Traffic Controller. He enjoyed pursuing his passions as a single-engine pilot, an avid golfer, and a talented singer in barbershop quartets, bringing harmony to those around him with his love for music.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clydene, his parents, and his sons, Dave and Doug. He leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his son Don, daughter Denise, 15 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held from 2:00–3:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Maple Springs for their compassionate care.
John’s warmth, humor, and zest for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
