Linda Jeannine Mecham

September 3, 1947 – February 7, 2026

Linda Jeannine Mecham, age 78, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, in Lehi, Utah. She was born September 3, 1947, in Shelley, Idaho, to Frederick McKay Smith and Jeannine Taylor Smith.

Linda was the eldest of twelve children in a large and loving family. She later became the devoted mother of six children. In a beautiful eternal union, she was sealed to her sweetheart, LeDale Mecham, in the Jordan River Temple after finding him later in life. She was widowed on April 20, 2014, following LeDale's passing.

Linda's deep faith in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints guided her life. She found great joy in creating beautiful things and pursued many hobbies with passion, including cooking, gardening, sewing, knitting, painting (both ceramics and fabric), singing, and playing the piano. She also loved animals and enjoyed breeding Himalayan cats and dwarf sea horses. Above all, her favorite role was that of grandmother-she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, creating magical memories that will last generations.

Even in her final days, Linda's joyful spirit shone through as she sang with her loved ones, reminding everyone to embrace fun and love. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

Linda is survived by her children: Jeannine (Mike) Griffiths, David (Bev) Jones, Cheryl (John) Schow, Daniel (Tina) Jones, and Rebecca (Stephen) Anderson; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick McKay Smith and Jeannine Taylor Smith; her husband, LeDale Mecham; her son, Richard Vern Jones; her grandson, Justin David Schow; her great-grandson, Thomas Milo Schow; and her brother, Frederick McKay Smith.

Until we meet again, sweet mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt Linda. We love you.
