In Memoriam

Lynda Jane (Haws) Bailey

January 23, 1941 - March 9, 2026

Lynda Jane (Haws) Bailey, age 85, passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter, Alice Matayoshi, on March 9, 2026, in Lehi, Utah. Her passing marked the end of a life defined by hard work, selfless service, and perseverance through many medical challenges.

Lynda was born on January 23, 1941, in Salem, Idaho, to Spencer Russell Haws and Lois Iretta (Roylance) Haws. She lived in the Rexburg area until age 12. Her family then moved to Othello, Washington. She spent the rest of her youth there and graduated from Othello High School in 1959 as a lively and talented young woman.

On June 10, 1959, Lynda married her high school sweetheart, K Lamoyne Bailey, in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity. By the time of K's passing in 2022, they had shared 63 years of marriage. Together, they raised eight children who brought them immense joy: David, Bonnie, Bryan, Craig, Clint, Katie, Alice, and Mindy. Lynda's life revolved around her children, and she sacrificed much for her family. She was a gifted homemaker who took great pride in making her "house a home."

Lynda possessed extraordinary talents in athletics, arts and crafts, cooking, sewing, and teaching the gospel. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully in many teaching and leadership callings throughout her life.

Lynda is survived by her children: David (Jennifer) Bailey, Bonnie (Keith) Bergeson, Bryan (Kristie) Bailey, Craig (Robin) Bailey, Katie Bailey, Alice (David) Matayoshi, and Mindy Rivers. She is the proud grandmother of 32 and great-grandmother of 34, with more on the way. She is also survived by a large extended family of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Lynda Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, K Lamoyne Bailey; son, Clint Russell Bailey; grandson, Damian Bailey; parents, Lois and Russell Haws; brother, Milan Haws; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wallace and June Bailey.

A funeral will be held in her honor at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1521 Bella Vista Rd, San Tan Valley, AZ 85143, on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited. A family luncheon will be provided immediately following the service in the church's cultural hall. At 2:30 p.m., an interment service will be held at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms, 22425 East Cloud Road, Queen Creek, AZ.
