Randell Keith Mecham, affectionately known as "DreamBoy" to those who knew him from his wrestling days, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25th, in his home. He was 77 years old.
Born on August 18th, 1947, in
Heber City, UT, Randy's early education took place in a one-room schoolhouse in Wallsburg, Utah. He went on to graduate from Wasatch High School in 1965, where he excelled as a wrestler.
Randy's journey led him to Dixie College for two years, where. he met the love of his life, Debi Cameron. They were united in marriage on August 12, 1967, in Las Vegas, NV. The following year, they welcomed their son, Eric, into the world. The couple made homes in Cedar City, Provo, and American Fork, during which time Randy dedicated his career to Geneva Steel as an armature winder/electrician until his retirement. They purchased their first home in Orem, where their family grew with the addition of their daughters, Ashli, and two years later, Whitni.
After retirement, Randy got his CDL and also worked for Utah State Hospital. He found joy in a variety of hobbies, including cooking, golfing, camping, fishing, and hunting. Above all, he cherished spending time with his beloved extended family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Randy is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Debi Cameron Mecham of
Orem, UT; his children, Eric and Chris Mecham of Fruitland, UT, Ashli and Nathan Jones of Tooele, UT, and Whitni and Trevor Wright of Price, UT. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Randy is further survived by his
siblings LaVerl and Sheri Mecham of Wallsburg, UT, Don Mecham of Harrisville, UT, and Tammy and Keith Tanner of Payson, UT. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Faye and Keith Mecham.
Randy's memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
