Audrey Huffaker Reese, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, was called home by our loving Heavenly Father at the age of 83, on February 2, 2026. Audrey was born on July 27, 1942, in Midway, Utah, to Wilburn Ferris Huffaker and Verna E. Price Huffaker. She was the oldest of 5 children, attended Wasatch High School and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Education.
Audrey married her High School sweetheart, Karl Jay Reese, on December 21, 1960, and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared 65 beautiful years together and welcomed four girls and one boy into their family. Shirley Smith (Stan), Linda Childs (Jeff), Sharon Horrocks (Duane), Susan Reese (Rob), and Steven Reese (Colette).
As the oldest of five, Audrey often looked after her siblings, taking on cooking, cleaning, laundry, and more. Her strong work ethic stayed with her throughout her life. In high school, she loved being part of the Wasatch Waspettes and serving as a Dairy Princess Attendant. She was a gifted seamstress; and created many beautiful formal dresses for school dances. While working at the Homestead in Midway, she taught herself to swim during lunch breaks, later sharing that skill with her five children and cherishing swim time together.
Mom dedicated her life to her family and truly cherished being a mother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had an incredible talent for creating exquisite cross-stitch quilts that earned her many ribbons and awards. She enjoyed traveling, swimming, gardening, scrapbooking, reading, working on jigsaw puzzles, and watching football, basketball, and movies with her loved ones. She especially loved taking in the different views of Mount Timpanogos from all around the valley. Mom worked very hard in the family business, Reese's Snow King Drive Inn, in Heber City, Utah. Her crispy homemade onion rings and golden deep-fried chicken were loved by people from near and far. She served the community as a fourth-grade teacher and substitute in the Wasatch County School District and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Audrey leaves behind her loving husband, Karl Reese; five children; 26 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings: Mary Wright (Ross), Anna Pollard (Steve), Allen Huffaker (Gloria), and Wayne Huffaker.
Services will be held on February 17, 2026, at 11:00 am, in the Heber 3rd Ward, 240 East 400 South, Heber City, UT. Interment will follow at the Midway City Cemetery in Midway City, Utah.
