CUMBERLAND

John M. Collins, 78, of Cumberland passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Hope Health in Providence.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Stacia (Lachowicz) Collins. He resided in Cumberland for most of his life, previously residing in Lincoln.

Mr. Collins was employed as Restaurant Equipment Installer for Paramount Restaurant Supply for 40 years until his retirement in 2012.

John enjoyed classic cars especially his 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible, attending car shows and tending to his yard, but most of all loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Chevy Owner's Club of Rhode Island.

He leaves his children, Jennifer Roberts and her husband Keith of Uxbridge, MA and Jessica Collins of Warwick; his brother, Gary Collins of Pawtucket; his two grandchildren, Emily Roberts and Collin Roberts; as well as several nieces and a nephew. He was the brother of the late Gail Remes.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to John's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 12 PM to 2 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. As a special tribute, the family requests classic car enthusiasts please bring their vehicles to the services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Hope Health, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
