Age 58 of
Quincy, MA. John Conner passed away on Monday January 27, 2025 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston after suffering a two-year tribulation with cancer.
John was born in Brockton MA, on December 13, 1966. John received his high school diploma in
Quincy, MA. in 2009. John worked as a Cabinet-Maker and Woodworker at Faneuil Kitchen Cabinets in Hingham, MA; Mystic Millworks in Norwood, MA, and later continued working as an independent contractor on private commissions. John was the son of the late Mary Johnston (Nowell) who he immensely missed. Remaining to cherish John's memory is his life-long partner and companion, Morgan Davis, with whom he shared all of his passions with; who as well, along with her family, loved him most dearly, lovingly nurtured and cared for him enduringly through his very long and agonizing two-year affliction. He was the loyal and loving brother to Brian Conner and his wife Jenn of Brockton. As well as his step-sisters Karen Johnston & Jamie Pagington. Loving uncle of Jordan Conner and Haley Johnston. He will also be missed by his very close friends Cleo and Peter Cakridas with whom he shared a lot of amazing and fun times. He will also be fondly remembered and loved by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins near and far.
Through his creativity and ingenious artistic ideas of furniture building and home remodeling, John was noted for transforming any living space into a place of beauty and comfort that clearly bore the unique signature all his own. As well, he was noted for 'breathing new life' into aged and/or broken materials through his pains-taking repair & restoration practices. An avid lover of nature, John loved being in the New England woods where he would often fish on local fresh-water ponds while listening to indigenous birds and wildlife. He also loved time spent at the local South Shore and Cape Cod beaches where he would always make sure to have leftover meal portions to feed the seagulls and local birds. An ardent gardener and landscape designer, John regenerated ordinary backyards into inviting, blossom-filled, perfumed-scented spaces to enjoy with loved ones on warm, balmy days and nights and he was devoted in sharing the fruits of his vegetable-gardening labor with neighbors and those close by. He loved special times, bowling, mini-golfing, bike-riding, roller-skating, chess & board games; The Three Stooges and pizza/game nights with family & close friends. Swift to forgive, he was regarded as a significant source of support through his loving and kind-hearted nature, always eager in giving of himself and often listening and responding to those he loved, with compassion and empathy whenever they needed it most. Truly a cherished legacy, he will be sorely missed.
Donations can be made in his name to the National Audubon Society.
