All I ever heard from my mother was what a great guy my Uncle John was. I know he was a great husband and father. I regret that being in Texas, getting out to San Francisco was unfortunately one thing that never happened or my husband Griff nd myself. May God bless all of our San Francisco family and know that we in Texas are saying some prayers for you all.

From the very day I met John on the tennis courts at Alta Plaza in SF back in the early sixties, we became and remained close friends on and off the court. I'll never forget his gracious hospitality, both in SF and in France. I feel fortunate to have seen him on my last visit home. I will miss him, Christiane, and keep the voice of his phone messages on my AM for some time to come.

Dear Christiane, Fabrice and Valere,
Uncle John was 89 years old and he experienced the struggles of the Great Depression and World War II. He spent his life focusing on the positive, an example we should all follow.
You have our love and deepest sympathy.
