Mr. John Jesse Cothran

John Jesse Cothran, 83, loving husband of 63 years to Donna Mae Spinney Cothran, of Seneca, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his home.
Born in Brunswick, Maine, Mr. Cothran was the son of the late Stanley Franklin Cothran and Thelma Alice Freeman Crowley. John was a machine mechanic for over 50 years in Connecticut prior to retiring to South Carolina. He and his family shared a deep love for women's basketball, especially cheering on UConn and Clemson. From a young age, he connected with music, playing drums in Fife and Drum Corps and later joining Paws and Taws Square Dancing Club. Affectionately known as "Pa C," he was always easy to talk to, bringing warmth and comfort to those around him.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Cothran is survived by his daughters: Wendi Richardson (James) of Evergreen, CO and Erin Cloutier (Jeffrey) of Mt. Gilead, NC; and grandchildren: Jessica Rich and Thomas Cloutier.
A private farewell will be held.
Mr. Cothran loved horses and it is the family's request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wild Hearts Equine Therapy, 598 Wild Hearts Way, Seneca, SC 29678.
The family is at their respective homes.
