John Wayne Crosby was born December 8, 1961 and passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025. He is survived by his two sons, Josh (Chelsea) Crosby and Matthew Crosby and by his former wife and the mother of his children, Laura Crosby. John was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren who were the light of his life: Selina Marie, Olivia Jade, Aubrie Jean, Elena Michelle, and Beau Wayne. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Carol (Cisco) Johnson and Linda Mangum, his brother Danny (Marion) Metcalf, and sister-in-law Beth Metcalf. John will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him deeply. John spent the majority of his life on the water as a crabber and a fisherman. It was where he found his peace and purpose. Above all, he loved his family deeply, and his legacy will live on through the stories shared, the memories made, and the love he leaves behind. John was the son of the late Judith Ann Metcalf and James Wayne Crosby Jr. He was the grandson of the late John Henry and Inez Metcalf, as well as Charlie Smith Crosby and Margie Smith Crosby. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Metcalf and Carl Metcalf, and his brother-in-law Jimmy Mangum. Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00am, Monday, December 22, 2025 at Panacea Cemetery, Panacea, Florida with Reverend Ronnie Metcalf officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. Guerry Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny, Florida is honored to serve the Crosby family.
