John A. Cummings

CUMMINGS, John A. of Westwood, MA, died December 6, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Ann T. (MacDonald) Cummings. Loving father of Joan and her husband Paul Nunes of Canton, MA, Jane Cummings of Canton, MA, Julie Mullen and her husband Kevin of Burlington, CT and Jennifer Cummings of New York, NY. Cherished grandfather of Jonathan, Charlotte, and Michael Nunes and Molly, Katherine, and Maeve Mullen. Jack was a friend to all and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He grew up in Dorchester and was always proud of his time and the life-long friendships he made at St. Peter's parish. He was a long-time member of St. Denis church where he was a lector and Eucharistic Minister for over 40 years. On any given weekend you could find him at the Norfolk Golf Course where he was always in search of the perfect round of golf followed by lunch with some of his friends. He loved all things Boston, Boston College (Class of 1954) and his Irish heritage. Jack was incredibly proud of his family and unwavering in his faith. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Saturday Dec. 10th from 9am – 10:30am. Following the Visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St. Westwood at 11am. Interment at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
