John David Cunningham

John David Cunningham, age 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at his home. He was born March 16, 1958 in Cambridge, the first son of the late Harold M. Cunningham and Margaret M. (Johnson) Cunningham. He graduated in 1976 from Cambridge HIgh School, shortly after which he began his career at the (then) Cambridge State Hospital, retiring after 30 years of service.
Mr. Cunningham was a child musician, able to listen to songs and then sit down and play them on the piano or organ. In Jr. High School he played with the locally famous Al Brown Jazz Band. He was known to "sit in with" other local bands from time to time. He was always looking for new groups and had a vast knowledge of musicians and producers.
John's other great interest was in earth-moving machinery. He archived information on historical equipment and traveled throughout the United States and Europe in search of scale models and other memorabilia.
A graveside service and will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Center Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his loving mother and father.
