John Cutshall was born on February 15, 1938 to James and Virginia Cutshall in Independence, MO.
He attended William Chrisman Junior High School and went on to work for Lipton Tea. Before spending 25 years of employment with Consolidated Freightways as a maintenance technician.
John has two sons, Marty (Maria) Cutshall of Panama and Scott (Lesli) Cutshall of Independence, MO. John also has three grandchildren, Zachary (Megan), Madeline Lazar (Chad) and Laura all of Independence, MO and recently a great-granddaughter, Samantha.
John married Sue on May 11, 1986 in Independence, MO. Sue is the mother of Deborah (Brian) Turner of Blue Springs, MO and Sandra (Mazin) Al-Hassan of Saudi Arabia. Sue is the grandmother of Dominique (Brock) Chart of Lawrence, KS and Ahmed (Rachel), Anwar and Kayan Al-Hassan all of Saudi Arabia.
John was a happy-go-lucky guy who enjoyed traveling the country with Sue in their travel trailer. John's favorite place to go in the winter was Biloxi, MS. The highlight of his traveling was being able to go to Yellowstone National Park with Sue and her daughter Sandra's family in 2023. John enjoyed listening to country music but, was also a fan of Elvis Presley. When John and Sue were home in Independence, they enjoyed attending school functions and activities with their grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife Sue of Independence as well as his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was very loved and will be missed dearly.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for John will be Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Carson-Speaks, 1501 Lexington Ave in Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with a service following at 2:00pm. John will be laid to rest at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
