Carson-Speaks ChapelBrandon Lee Mareda, a beloved son, brother, and father, departed this world much too soon on September 24, 2025, at the age of 40. With his passing in Independence, Missouri, he leaves behind a profound legacy etched in the hearts of many.
Born on January 29, 1985, Brandon brought joy and laughter into the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. A graduate of Truman High School's class of 2004, he demonstrated an unwavering work ethic, dedicating himself to his career as a server, where he thrived in the vibrant atmosphere of engaging with people. In addition to his service work, Brandon explored his diverse skills through various construction side jobs, proudly mastering tasks like flooring, painting, and even driving a forklift.
Brandon's spirit was adorned with a heart of gold; he was the embodiment of love and humor intertwined. Fiercely devoted to his children, Connor Lee and Jackson Lee Mareda, he filled their lives with both strength and warmth. An ardent fighter, he overcame the odds when diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at the tender age of 17, demonstrating resilience that would define his character throughout his life. He was spirited, with a delightful ornery streak that endeared him to friends and family alike.
Brandon is survived by his sons, Connor Lee and Jackson Lee Mareda and their mother Tonya Ryan; parents, Ronald and Nycki Mareda; brothers, Michael Mareda and his wife Andrea, and Ryan Mareda and his wife Mallorie; grandmother, Ann Womochil; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts. He is preceded in death by his, maternal grandparents and his step-grandfather, and extended family members.
He often spoke of his proudest accomplishments being his boys, a testament to the depth of his love and commitment to his family. Brandon’s laughter, light, and loving nature will be sorely missed, yet the warmth he imparted will live on in the cherished memories shared by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we gather to remember Brandon, let us celebrate the incredible man he was—a strong, loving presence who touched lives with compassion and humor. His legacy is one of courage and devotion, inspiring us to carry forth his spirit of kindness and love in our own lives.
