Louetta D. Meek, 74, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21st at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22nd at the funeral home. Burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri.

Louetta "Lou" was born February 19, 1951 in Independence, Missouri to E.G. McEntire and Vanedia (Shipman) McEntire. Lou graduated from Truman High School in 1969. Before retiring Lou enjoyed a lengthy career working as an office manager for Dr. Stephen Mesa. Lou lived a life based in love, kindness and strength. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she found her greatest joy in caring for others and being present for the people she loved. Lou's care didn't stop in the home though, she showed up for neighbors, friends, coworkers and strangers alike with a warm meal, a listening ear, or a helping hand. Lou made sure those around her felt supported and valued. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with compassion and unwavering generosity. Because of her family's love of horses, Lou spent much of her life immersed in horse shows and field trials. Whether she was making costumes, encouraging from the sidelines, organizing events or riding with her husband in a parade, she found a community and a purpose there. Supporting her grandchildren was Lou's favorite pastime. She was a constant presence at their birthday parties, holidays and even sporting events. She would be wearing the team colors and cheering with unmatched enthusiasm. Her love and pride were impossible to miss.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Diane Malone, her brothers Earl McEntire, Gary McEntire and her husband, Larry Meek.

Lou is survived by her brother and sister in-law (Terry and Joyce McEntire), her sister (Brenda Ames), son (Micheal Norman), son (Chris Meek), daughter (Katrina Wagner), grandchildren (Mackensie Wagner and Dawson Wagner), and extended family, blood or chosen. A heartfelt thank you to her companion, Jim Gross, and his family whose presence brought Lou joy and comfort in recent years. The family requests donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to the Posse 100. A favorite local charity of Lou's.
