The world will miss the blessing that is John Dabney, a fine Christian man who believed and practiced a faith-based walk with The LORD. We were privileged to be John's friends for 53 years and knew him in ways perhaps not apparent to others.

John coupled his balanced nature with circumspection to project the "Old School" qualities of a gentleman.

As an attorney, John became affectionately known as "The Law Man," maintaining the almost impossible rating of 5/5. He always had a positive outlook framed by his dedication to legal ethics and Christian morals. In a Christian context, John was a Renaissance Man exercising multiple talents too numerous to detail.

While humble, John was always impressive, as from his youth, he exemplified his Eagle Scout characteristics of being trustworthy, loyal, helpful, and friendly. Totally reliable in difficult situations, John was also courteous, kind, obedient, and cheerful. With these talents, John could and did lighten problematic circumstances via an appropriate sense of humor that brought people to laughter. John modeled the characteristics of being thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. For better or for worse, he always tried to walk the walk.

As The LORD promises: "I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:3.

Remembering John's days as a pilot, we wish him Godspeed as he now soars within the limitless heavens with his LORD JESUS.
