Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Orlando ChapelJohn Ciriaco Mas Dancel, age 78, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, October 03, 2025.
John was born on February 10, 1947, to Ciriaco F. Dancel and Concepcion Mas in San Antonio Zambales, Philippines. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Reynaldo Mas Dancel.
While in the Philippines, he proudly served in the Philippine Army as Military Police. He graduated from the University of the East Manila and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. On December 10, 1972, John married his beloved wife, Angelina Canlas Dancel, and were married for over 52 years. In love, they had their beautiful daughter, Karen Joy Dancel.
John and Angelina continued their lives in New Jersey, where he became an Accountant for the City of New York and was a Director of Internal Audit for the Head Start Program. Due to his hard work and dedication, he was awarded many accolades to include being recognized with a prestigious award from the Mayor of the City of New York. After over 30 years, John retired from the City of New York and moved to Orlando, Florida with his family.
After retirement, John worked for Disney for 13 years. He enjoyed the company of his large circle of friends, where they shared laughter, dancing, and their enjoyment of sports.
John is survived by his wife Angelina, daughter Karen (spouse Krystal), sister Luzviminda Mas Dancel, brother Norman Mas Dancel (spouse Jean), his dog and best buddy Mickey, and many extended family, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
John is a devoted child of God and was proud of his family, friends, the life he lived, and always gave so much love. He was a dedicated Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Friend. Throughout his battle, he was brave, steadfast, intentional, and fought without fear until the end. He remained happy and was surrounded in love and prayer by his family, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services of Catholic burial will be held at St. James Catholic Cathedral located at 215 N Orange Ave Orlando, FL on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 2:00PM.
Food and Refreshments will be offered after the service. Please feel free to join the family.
