John Darden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Raffeo - DiCecco Memorial Home, Inc. on Feb. 5, 2026.
John Q. Darden, of Atglen and formerly of Norristown, passed away at Temple University Hospital on January 30, 2026. He was 62 years old. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Virginia Darden and adoring husband of the late Denise Queenan.

John was a graduate of Norristown High School and proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as a cook in the Army and later worked for a moving company securely packing boxes, wrapping furniture, driving, and loading and unloading trucks. In his spare time he liked fishing, eating, cooking, watching TV, especially Judge Judy, drawing, and watching scary movies. He enjoyed the world around him and spending time with his daughter and grandson. He loved watching movies together, bonding with his daughter over the Army and music, and taking long walks and riding bikes with his grandson.

John will be remembered for his happy, selfless spirit and willingness to help those in need. He was a loving father and pop-pop and will be dearly missed by his daughter, Taneshia Darden of Atglen; grandson, Aaron Darden; son, Karell Darden; and grandpets, Lacey Darden and Mark Darden. He also leaves behind brothers and sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives; and two special close friends, Tiffany Haas and Donte Vaughn.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, February 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Raffeo-DiCecco Memorial Home, 403 E. Main Street, Norristown, PA 19401. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown at 1:30 p.m.
