John Delles Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home & Crematory on Nov. 5, 2024.
John E. Delles Sr., 81 of Chicago, passed away peacefully in Vernon Hills on November 1, 2024.
Loving husband of 38 years to the late Donna Slack Delles. Beloved father of Daniel (Leslie) and Jeffrey (Ellie) Delles. Adored grandfather of Rachal, Stephanie, Zach, Novella, John III and Ashley and step grandfather of Charlie, Christopher and Nicole and great grandfather of Ellie. He is also survived by his siblings Carol and Greg.
After he had a short battle with cancer, he made the choice to not return to the hospital. He was always willing to do whatever it took to help the family. From buying a trailer at a campground for all the children and grandchildren to enjoy to working well past his retirement to make sure his wife could buy a property on Pelican Lake again. After Donna, his wife of 38 years passed, he still kept busy. He worked part time transporting cars and food sales and spent time enjoying donuts and Taco Bell. He drove his son and daughter-in-law crazy by switching internet every two months, buying a new car every 6 months and saying he wants to move every eight months. His last days were spent peacefully being well cared for and watching Walker, Texas Ranger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, his son John Delles, Jr., and his mother Genevieve Buscarini and father John F. Delles
