In Loving Memory
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4
John Ray Derosin, aged 58, of New Roads, LA, passed away on September 26, 2025, in New Orleans, LA. He was born on July 23, 1967, at Sisters of St. Joseph Hospital in New Roads, LA to Richard and Mary Battley Derosin. John was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend. John graduated from Rosenwald High School in 1985 and later attended the University of New Orleans. John enjoyed fishing with his cousins whenever he had the opportunity, and he lit up every time he spoke about fishing. John Ray was also interested in digital investments and loved watching football and taking vacations with his family whenever he could. John was married to Yeshiva Ambrose and from that union one daughter was born. He's survived by his daughter, Kennedy Rae Derosin, New Orleans, LA, his parents, Mary and Richard Derosin, Jr. (New Roads, LA), one sister, Cynthia Derosin-Butler (Robert Butler) of Robert, LA, one niece Cyan Butler of (Robert, LA), two nephews Shawn Butler of (Illinois) and Joshua Butler of (Missouri). He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Enest and Cecelia Victorian Battley and paternal grandparents, Richard and Velma Smith Derosin. John will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor, dedication, and generosity. Friends and family knew him as someone who always had a story to tell and was the first to lend a hand. Above all, John will be remembered for the love he gave, the joy he brought, and the legacy of faith, family, and hard work that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
