John R. DeVaughn, 62, of Kent, died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at his home. He was born September 24, 1946 in Glenville, West Virginia to Humes and Ruble J. (Ware) DeVaughn. He retired this year from Eaton Corp. He was a member of Kent VFW Post 3703 and the American Legion Post #496. He is survived by sons, Wayne (June) Haney of Akron and Russell (Vickie) Miller Jr. of Akron; brothers, Carl (Neomi) DeVaughn of Shalersville and James Glascock of Deleware; sisters, Alma Dick of West Virginia and Bryanna DeVaughn of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia DeVaughn and his parents. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 26th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
